I Feel Free

As some of you may know, I have the privilege of working for one of the hottest artists/producers from Brooklyn named Ricky Blaze. He produced Gyptian's hit single "Hold Yuh" amongst other reggae/dancehall tracks that helped put him on the map. His first single "Just You and I" was a big hit for the young artist and received a massive amount of airplay on popular radio stations such as Hot 97 and Power 105. The follow up to that single is "Feel Free" featuring Jim Jones. You may have heard this track before with features from other artists including Nicki Minaj but this is the new updated version with Harlem's Capo, Jim Jones. Listen or download his new single on the website below and feel free to share your thoughts.

Ciara: Basic Instinct

Like every other album that dropped this year, Basic Instinct leaked! Maybe all artists need to make their circle smaller because I don't think they would be that stupid to leak their own album, it has to be one of their friends, producers, well anyway you get the point. So now let's get back to basics. Ciara honey, I was never a big fan of your vocals so I knew I could never listen to a whole album, therefore Basic Instinct just isn't my cup of tea, at least not the whole cup. Some songs are just blah to me, for example, "Girls Get Your Money" all I can say is ummm seriously?! Dream if you're responsible for that I shake my head at you! The songs that I do like a lot are Ride, Gimme That, Speechless, You Can Get It, Wants For Dinner, and I Run It. The Basic Instinct track isn't too bad either, but overall Ciara's album gets a 6.5 out of 10 since I do like more than half of the album. I really just expected it to be better so I'll never listen to her whole album again, only the songs that I actually like. Mmkay that's enough, you listen and tell me what you think.

I need a moment

Mmkay I'm a tad bit confused, oh and before I officially get started I must say I better not ever hear anyone say a damn word about Electrik Red's lyrics again! Okay so back to my rant. What the fuck is up with Keri Hilson's new song/video? This bitch is all over the place with her music. First she's sort of uplifting women, then she's talking about how pretty she is, now she's saying "I got that kind of pussy that will keep you out the streets" and "It's the way you fuck me." She needs to get her life and music together then come back and release a new single.

P.S. BET banned Ciara's "Ride" so umm I hope they see all those pelvic thrusts all up in the camera and do the same for Keri's

Jazmine Sullivan "Don't Make Me Wait"

It's a typical day for J9, browsing the web like usual and one of my fave websites happens to be Concrete Loop, mainly because of the new music. One of the recent posts is Jazmine Sullivan's new song so I had to listen. Unfortunately I'm on the fence with this track, I don't think it fits her vocals, well at least I'm quite sure that someone else would have sung it better. My choices would be Electrik Red or Ameriie, who would you choose?

Marsha Ambrosius live at SOB's

There's nothing better than going to a show and hearing amazing live vocals. I was so pleased with both Marsha Ambrosius and Teedra Moses performances. Below is a short vid of what I captured, there's more to come.

Dear Nicki

Girl, what happened? I was literally halfway through the album when I realized it was an ultimate fail! Album fillers much! The only songs I like are the ones that were singles. Thank God this shit leaked, it saved a lot of souls from spending money on something that's as good as spoiled food, it belongs in the trash! Thanks and bye bye for now.

Rihanna: Loud

I didn't get a chance to listen to the whole album but when I do I will definitely share my thoughts. Here's the link to download it Loud

"Outside Your Body" Ameriie

I really love this song, it gave me an 80's feel in the beginning, but yet it reminds me of some of the other songs that are currently out since a lot of artists are going in the same direction. On Ameriie's twitter page she explained the meaning of the title, "Get outside your body means remembering we are spirit in physical bodies, not bodies with spirits. Spirit is who we really are." Hmm nice Ameriie! Well I love it so what do you think, is it a hit or miss?

P.S. What is her reasoning behind the extra "i" in her name?

Pink Friday

Womp womp! Nicki Minaj's album was leaked! Although I love some of her songs, J9 was not planning on buying the album, so for those of you who want to download it for FREE, here you go...

P.S. I'm cheap so I only buy an album if I support the artist 100%

Where have you been?

If you've been chillin' under a rock for about uhhh TWO years, I'm here to lift it up, pull you out and dust you off. Here's your introduction to phenomenal girl group Electrik Red. They were signed to Def Jam in February of 2008 and released their debut album on May 26, 2009. The group is comprised of four talented, beautiful women, Binkie, Lesley, Sarah and Naomi. How To Be A Lady Vol. 1 is one of my fave albums of all time! It was written by The-Dream, and with that given fact it's a shame that they aren't superstars right now, but that day will soon come. Anyway, please do yourself a favor and get into them!!!

It's J9 bitches!

After coming across the quote "Music feeds my soul" it has stuck with me. Don't know who said it but it's mines now! If you know me you'll know that I love music, and you'll also know that I will quickly give my most honest opinion of any and every song that I hear. If you don't like it, guess what? Who cares! I'll try not to be a bitch but umm I am a fuckin' bitch!

P.S. I never thought to do a blog but here I am, shout out to the homie Binkie of Electrik Red, she knows why :)
